8 drills · 150 minutes total

How scoring routines build your average

This scoring routine builds treble-hitting volume and scoring consistency. Every drill targets a different aspect of scoring — from T20 volume to switch hitting to 100+ visit games — so you spend less time in a leg and more time putting pressure on your opponent. The longer format lets you layer volume work on top of precision drills for a complete scoring session.

Tips for your scoring routine

Focus on smooth transitions

The best scorers don't just hit trebles — they recover quickly after a bad dart. If your first dart misses T20, don't chase it. Reset, breathe, and throw the next dart with the same routine. A stray single 5 is fine; a rushed second dart that misses everything is not.

Track the right metric

Don't just count your score — track your treble percentage. 9 darts at T20 with 3 trebles is better than 15 darts with 5 trebles, because it means you're grouping well. Quality over volume.

Common mistake: rushing after a bad visit

A 26 (5, 1, 20) feels bad, so players rush the next visit to "make up for it." That breeds more bad visits. Step off the oche. Take a breath. Then throw.

How to progress

Once you hit 6+ trebles in a T20 Volume session, switch to alternating T20 and T19. Once that feels natural, add pressure — give yourself 3 visits to score 300 or restart.
